While watching " The Bucket List " for the umpteenth time, I realized it must be one of my favorite movies. I'm coming to realize also, that it may be because I can't believe I am relating. Oh, I have no terminal illness that has afflicted me, but I do have a list of " I wanta's " before the Golden Gates or the Devil's Chamber confront me.
Here goes with just a few crazy notions~~~~not necessarily in order
1. SING COUNTRY- sing Good and not just mediocre bar-room brawl stuff
2. DANCE- I never did get the basic steps down with my 2 left feet. My niece did try to
teach me to line dance once~~~she is sooo patient and even got frustrated. That
was when I sat out so as not to embarrass her efforts any further.
3. FLY- literally, ya know, like the Harry Potter stuff~~~stop laughing
4. SKY DIVE- no longer attainable due to all the metal in my spine~~~however, if I
were terminal, I'd consider it.
5. TRAVEL- like Jack and Sherry do- just travel the states without a care in the world
and see what great wonders we have within our own country AND then see the
wonders of the world.
6. BECOME A PI- I would have been good at it. Actually, I AM good at it except I do
not like hurting anyones feeling.
7. MOVE TO THE CABIN AND BECOME A RECLUSE- attainable
8. CHECK OUT HEAVEN- I'm missing my Dad so much and I just want to sit and
talk to him face to face. Oh, we talk every day, but you who have lost someone so
dear to your heart, know exactly what I mean.
My list could go on and on with material stuff that would just make daily living less of a strain, but I must have grown beyond it. Money. It does not seem so important. If ya don't have it, ya don't have it.
There are so many more personal wishes in my world, but they are only important to me.
One of the things on the movie, "The Bucket List", was to laugh until crying. I've done that many times, and do Not wish to anymore because I usually end up in an embarrassing situation.....laughing til I pee my pants.....not funny. It dampens your spirits immediately. Ha!
What's on YOUR Bucket List????

I like 5...6 and 7!
I have many things to do before I kick the bucket too!!!
I love it when someone is honest, yes honest in what they actually would like or like to do.
I like your list, even have some of the same on my list. When I ws a kid I dreamed I could fly, it was so real when I woke up I went outside and ran real fast and jumped, but I only hit the ground. ha!
I really wanna sky dive. and go up in a hot air balloon. My son tells me I probably can only get on a tethered flight, that is not what I want.
I would still like to sail around the world, but that is out with all the mean folk around.
I sing great already, but I am the only one who knows.
I wouldn't mind trying 'rich' just to see what it will buy!
Love ya!
Hello Dar~ Very nice to see you back in the cyber world blogging!
Bucket list item for me would be to go to Europe and see old castles/homes and the like... Specifically England/Greece/Spain. Oh day..
Love your bucket list and the movie! I know what you mean about your Dad. I feel the same about my Mom. It's been 25 years and I still miss her every day like it just happened. I wish that I had talked to her more. Hindsight is 20/20.
Skydiving is awesome! I did it in the army and it was the most incredible feeling. I don't know if I would do it now though.
Great post ~ oh to fly and sing like a bird. I think most of us have a list in mind but mine would get too long to share. But I will say my cabin would be high in the mountains in Alaska! lol
'hugs from afar'
Great list Dar.
Agree with #7; I'd love to just disappear, and live wild; and #3, fly. Yea, I'd like to be a bird.
dreaming isn't a bad thing ~ i think everybody has their bucket list
I love your list!
I'd love to see my parents again just to make a cuppa for them and have a chat. And, selfishly, I'd love for them to see me and my family and know that it all turned out great after all.
I think I might need to see this movie now!
Having just watched it again myself...to be able to answer yes to the two questions would be number 1.
Love your list and after all...to dream is to fly...right?
Debbie
Hello again Dar. And BLESS YOUR HEART! Great to see you back here in cyberspace again. My bucket list? I want to make two special DVD singing videos. One, I'll call "The Old Man Still Sings" and the other "Missions Songs I've Sung". (Nope, never made one before, so I don't know what all this entails. Probably more work than I want to put into it. ☻) I'd like to travel (sort of like our mutual friends Jack and Sherry, but my plan is to visit small churches and encourage them at no cost to the pastor or church.
The one thing I hope to do before I die is to go to the Grand Canyon.... There are tons more things I'd love to do also---but that one is near the top of the list.
Going to Alaska is also on the list--but I think we're going to do that next year... yeah!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
Dar: I would love to visit england and visit my blogging friends.
