Anticipation

I had the most wonderful dream...
 and it was in color...
the wonderful color of Spring Peas...
and my garden of last May.
 of thinning carrots...
and weeding beets, radishes and kale.
 What a wonderful dream.
I woke up, saw the snow outside
but was not even upset with
Ol' Man Winter still visiting.
I really do love our 4 Season location-
and the anticipation of what's ahead.

Have a fantastic weekend.
Take time to smell the roses if you already have them, and if not,
your turn is coming.

Come Here

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL           Yes, it's been gloomy all day, raining on and off, mostly on.  Believe me, I don't mind the rain but.....I don't know what that tin sun on my railing is laughing about .........
because, THIS is just not funny anymore.
We still have snowbanks over the vehicles and
most kids and it just does not seem to want to leave us.
There is still one section of roof we cannot reach to pull the snow off of, so we pray it doesn't cause yet more problems like our destroyed kitchen ceiling...another day we'll talk 'bout it.
I mean, really.  The treehouse was free of snow just this morning, but no longer.  That ' stuff ' we have grown tired of
( nor say out loud ), still falls.
But wait............I wanted to show you my lilac branch.......
oh, you can't quite see it either, can you.
Moisture we can always use, Yes, but.......
Really?
It looks to me like we are ' full up ' to our
necks again.
SMILE, it'll all be over soon!
I hope the Robins have not been fooled into
an early arrival, for they will freeze their little
tweets!..
Here Spring!  Come Here!

Old Barns, New Dreams

We wait.  We wait for blue skies and 20 ft. sunflowers by the barn.  We wait.  Meanwhile...take a summer country ride with me.  I'm sure Mel can identify every one of these charming barns as we ride.
Each one of these barns are within 10 miles of my home.
I love this old log barn and will stop someday and ask for a tour of her bones.
Each barn has it's own charm and purpose.
It's sadly apparent, which ones are no longer used  for it's original purpose, but still functional.
A hint, this one is still farmed daily, and well kept...I once harvested arms full of grapevine for wreaths from the farm above.
Only one of these barns is not in my immediate neighborhood, but it isn't the one above.
This one is well known, as is the one below.
OK, so this is not a barn, but I thought you'd like to see an original log home from centuries ago. It's also a landmark...Mel drives by it all the time.
As much as what I love old barns, there's a real kinship with my very own barn.  It has had a facelift since this last picture but is need of a deep cleaning.  The loft holds lumber for projects, outdoor Christmas decor, summer patio furnishings, antiques in need of some love, tires, toys, oh my...the lower level is full of ' big boy toys ' like 4-wheelers, snowmobiles, carts, storage cabinets, etc, and no hope of ever being used as an intended animal housing again.
We will continue to keep her serviceable, but for now....
I'm dreaming again of my green lawn that's still under 3 ft. of snow and that's with the melt down that's been going on.

Have a great week everyone.
God's so good.

A Foot Off the Top of a Blanket

Please feel free to enlarge the photo above by clicking on it
so it's easier to read.

Tis the truth, wouldn't you say?

I asked a wise woman this morning just what was the reasoning behind such a thing as Daylight Savings Time in the USA.?
She had said that the reason simply was so children were not walking to school in the dark.

I have not done any research on this assumption, but it would
have made more sense to  change the time that school classes would begin during the long, dark winter days.

I agree with the Old Indian.
We can always count on our government to add to the confusion.
All that aside,

Remember to turn your clocks back, OOPS, AHEAD!

(that is if you live where we practice such foolishness.)

Bring It

Blue skies, pristine waters, bring it on...
a picnic and a swim would be so nice...
 We really have had enough...and
It's just ' sssno' fun anymore.
What we Really want to see, is snow and ice
s l o w l y
melting like last year and the photo below.  Spring is not going to be with us for months this year, no way, no how.
I'm wondering if we shouldn't move south after all...
at least for 6 months.

Have a good week, wherever you are.
Stay safe and warm if it's cold by you and
cool if it's not.
May the Good Lord See Ya Through
