Just around 6 p.m. was supper time, and here they all came. They took a stroll after their lunch, across the field to the northeast, circling to the south, crossing the highway. We knew this because they all came back to the green grass of the lawn from the neighbor's field to the south of us, crossing the front lawn to the back. They certainly have ravenous appetites, it seems. Another hour later, and they still were grazing, just barely able to see them. I'm sure glad I didn't get any tender plants in yesterdays ground. They would have certainly had a picnic on strawberries and apple branches.
I sure wish I had been sitting on the deck tonight to get some decent pictures. Maybe another time. Anyway, something is not right with the camera again. Surely, it couldn't have had something to do with dropping it on it's head for the 5th time. All features but one, are of use.
Time for a new one, ya think?
I shudder to see the condition of our yard. You certainly can tell that Bill has not had the time, nor I, with my issues, to get some major yardwork done. Maybe tomorrow, if it doesn't rain again. I see the little darlings have my cherry trees nipped down. I would imagine, no cherries again, this year. And just when I thought it was high enough to remove the fence. My mistake.
Enjoy our deer, as we gallivant to distant places to pick up our toy. While in the vicinity, we will also gather hugs and kisses from a few of our distant GrandLoves again. We never, ever, tire of hugs and kisses from our wee ones.
I will also be checking on my daughter, who got kicked in the back and the back of her knee by one of the boarders in the horse corral. She says she is fine, but bruising looks like a rainbow. I have to see for myself. In the meantime, tuck her in your prayers. It's a 'mom' thing to worry.
Thank you so much for stopping and
BlessYourHearts

oh my! you've got quite the mowing crew there! and several times a day!
sorry to hear your daughter got injured! ow! hope all is well!
Oh wow the deer are just like pets. Prayer for your daughter and yes it is a Mom's job to worry.
Sorry about your cherry tree but if I could have a view filled with deer, I'd plant stuff just for them to eat.
Hope you daughter is fine. A horse kick is a powerful thing.
I hope that your daughter is feeling better soon! I know what it feels like to be kicked by a horse. Or get stepped on. Or bit. Love seeing your deer. I am hoping that maybe this year we will get some in our yard again. Last year we had to orphan babies. Can't wait to see the new toy!
That's a herd there.....I do hope your daughter will be fine. Know all about the constant worry of parenthood...sigh
What a view. I think your cherries need to be taller than a deer standing on its hind legs. That's big. Then you can't reach the cherries, yourselves. But it looks like your grounds crew is doing a fine job.
The injury that your daughter sustained sounds painful! I enjoyed your deer pictures. I remember, while visiting my brother- and sister-in-law in Virginia, I enjoyed sitting out on their deck waiting for the deer to come out of the woods in the mornings and evenings.
It is a mom thing no matter how old they are.
Enjoyed the photos of the deer and I hope your dear daughter is alright!
That's a lot! Happy mother;'s day!
Thank you for all the prayers. :) I can take a lickin and keep on tickin for sure. :) I did get checked out with the doc. They did a CT to make sure there were no internal problems. All is good. So aside from the bruising and a little cartilage popped lose on one lower rib, I'm fine. :) But, as Mom said, colorful. ;)
I remember my dad loading us into the car as kids, to go see the deer. There was a man in town who had a small apple orchard, and we'd park along the side of the road, watching them stand on their hind legs to reach into the trees for the apples! Determined they are to get what they know is yummy!
Hoping your daughter is fine. Will be keeping her in my prayers...
