After cleaning up the deer during hunting season, I had asked dear Hubby Bill to throw the carcass scraps where I could see them just for this reason. I love watching the eagles. Pretty cool to have them outside of my window about an eighth mile away. These pictures are not the clearest but more will come. We set up a trail camera today to get better shots. These are a Mom and her Young One, the one without his white head and tail feathers. She actually still fed him a few bites yet.
Nothing lasts forever, as ' Away She Flies.'
With all of today's rain taking the snow level down, the bones resurfaced, and the sky was black with crows just after the eagles arrived. I'm curious to see what's on the trail camera. Maybe bobcats?
Other news this past week includes one very sick Grandlove, with a nasty virus. Nasty enough that he could not go out to play the past 5 days, and fought a 102 fever on and off. At the doctors, his Daddy was told to continue doing what he was doing for him. Lots of fluids, soft foods for the sore throat, and keep the fever down with cool baths, popsicles and lots of hugs.
We did tackle the pile of toys under the tree and played until his energy dwindled. Sy's Airhog hovercraft is quite awesome, seeming to levitate, as well as his spy watch. We all played a game called Minotaurus which is a Lego game of mazes after it is assembled like any other Lego toy. I must say, even while sick as a dog, Sy was sharp as a tack.
My Doc appt. was ' iffy.' Numbers look ok except for the blood sugars...darned Christmas cookies and candies will do it every time.
That's it folks...thanks for stopping and listening once again.
You're a good egg.

HI Dar, Love seeing the Eagles... Amazing how they can find that meat!!!!!! Glad you could feed them..
Sorry your little grandson is ill. Poor thing --at Christmas time.. That's sad. Sounds like he is getting lots of love and attention though..
NOW--take care of YOU. Get that sugar under control... Now that Christmas is over, it will be easier.
Hugs,
Betsy

Awww, Sy is a good guy. Sorry he has been ill. Great shots of the Eagles. Enjoyed the entry, thanks. Hope you get the sugars down, and try to be good!
Give Bill our love and especially Sy.
You take care of yourself. Love from down in Warm Florida! 78 tomorrow!!!
Awesome to have an Eagle in your yard.
I think we had duplicate Christmas's. Our Gradndaughter was so sick, she hardly cared to rip open a package. And her oldest brother also got the airhog. so much fun to watch.
just glad you didn't get the flu like hubby and I got!
Have a great New Year 2011!
How cool to get eagles rift in your yard! We had the snow followed by rain last week. It was so wet and heavy that it tore the rain gutters off our roof and took off the satellite dish!
Those eagles are some majestic birds aren't they ? We once had an eagle let go from our school yard after it had been nursed back to health. Our school offers Cree as a second language and most of my students are First Nations or Metis. The letting go of the eagle was a special ceremony for our students. To be given an eagle feather is a great honor.
Sorry to hear your little one was ill- hope that he is feeling much better. Hugs and nurturing are great healing tools.
Happy New Year to you and yours,
Regards,
Anna
Thanks for visiting my blog and your kind words.
How cool to see the Eagles this close! Sorry about your Grandlove....
Oh my, I would love to live where you are Dar, lots of beautiful creatures to see. I remember the other, we were drivng home from my father in law and these two big turkeys flew in front of us. The kids had a blast about that hehehe.
Happy new year to you and your family Dar!
Sorry to read of the sickness in your family. I had to go for a couple shots and breathing treatment yesterday myself. Feeling some better already.
May the New Year bring healing and many other blessing to you and your household.
I loved seeing the pictures of the eagles! While hunting this year I came upon a decaying carcass of a full-grown cow. It surprised me to learn that the farmer had dragged that cow up there deliberately - I think to attract coons and other wild carnivorous critters?
Wow Dar! Amazing to have Eagles visit so close.
I'm just slightly envious lol
Hope the little man gets well very soon.
All the best for the New Year.
I hope the little one is much better. I also love to see the eagles. Careful with the candy and cookies. Don't want you to get more iffyer.
Hope the little one gets well soon. Those are great pictures. That mama Eagle is a good mama. Happy New Year to you and your family Helen
