A Matter of Choice

Finally, it's warming up enough to let the kids outside to play.  Today, our son and a couple of his sons were here for a day of fun in the snow.....or at least for a little while.

The tallest of the youngin's found that he really has grown taller last summer, so much so that he's a head taller than the windshield of the snow sled.  He came in with a face full of snow but.........he had fun., rosy cheeks and all.

Winter really has been long, and I'm sure you're as tired of hearing about it as I am of seeing it.  Ol' Man Winter can take his long nap now and bring on the warm sunny days.

Same ol', same ol', snow, snow, snow.
It's actually at it again.
I clean off the railings and the next day they are covered again...and again...and again.
So it goes in the northwoods,
Where we CHOOSE to live.

We are fortunate to enjoy all 4 seasons as they were meant to be, April showers of spring bringing the flowers, green grass and budding trees and the summer growing season.  Fall colors of the fruits and vegetables of our labor and the brilliance of the trees, and then, well, you know.  It's all we've seen since Oct. and will still see more until May....at least!  But like we know so well, so it goes in our chosen homefront.

Stay safe,
Stay warm and
PLAY!!!

I guess I choose to live where it is boiling hot in the summer or I would move, wouldn't I? lol I guess people are used to what ever they are used to and what you're raised with you know how to deal with.

Hang tough. I went snowshoeing today and realized that maybe winter isn't so bad. I too choose to live where the snow is deep. I like the snowmobile and trailer combo. Looks like fun.

I love hearing the stories, and I know even with a short growing season the land produces, with YOUR help. Yeah, I know the big kid and the little ones loved it.

Take care and stay warm, IT is just around the corner!!! (They say) Love ya!!!

you're right - you do get to experience the richness each season brings to the north. i miss your huge trees and lush yards. and autumn. but i have acclimated to the mild winters pretty easily in texas. it's the summers i still struggle with...

Oh I bet the boys like riding in that pull behind sled! I can hear the giggling already. It reminds me of many many moons ago and the sled rides we had behind Dad with the snowmobile.

It sure has been a long cold stretch here in WI. Just can't wait for the other 3 seasons to come!

You have all the seasons but one is long and one is short - we have the opposite - just kiddin yah.

I love hearing about your winter and what the kids are up to. I am hoping for a growth spurt for Andy.

That is sure one heck of a lot of snow. But it looks like fun snow - not icy.

Hope you are staying warm and having some fun.
