Look Who's Come To Dinner ~

 Look who's come to dinner!
I never like to see them so close to the highway,
but they even seem to have adapted to that, as
they guide their youngsters to learn how to
watch for traffic.
We've had SO much snow this spring, but
the deer have managed to find patches of green
with just as quick a thaw.
This mom and yearling look quite good considering
the length of winter here, the depth of snow in the woods
and the lack of browse available because of it.
Mama deer will soon chase this year old into
teenage stage, since she looks pregnant.  Once she
settles in to give birth and until her newborns are
chasing and playing in the field, the Mama will
keep the yearling/teens, away from her young.
No matter how sweetly those eyes look at you,
her first priority once her fawns drop, will be to
take sole care of them.   The yearlings/teens,
will be totally on their own.  It's called
' the nature of things.'
It's all good.
Awwww, spring!   The time of fawns,
bunnies and cubs in our country.

So, who's come to dinner in your yard?
BlessYa

Squirrels, birds and the Grand dog are all that come to dinner around here. LOL
I love the entry and your ability to photograph the wild life. Also your dialog of life as a deer.
For many years humans learned from the lower animals, to nudge the young out when they were old enough.

Nature and life has changed, and more and more the nest is very comfortable.
((HUGS)) I hope now Spring is serious and not fooling you guys again.
We are very cool and rainy today down here.

oh so sweet. I always enjoy seeing deer out and about. Can't believe how much snow is still on the ground. I'd love to have them in my back yard for dinner...

Bunnies! Usually the coyotes keep them at bay but not this year.

We have many coyotes around our farm. Some deer, raccoons, squirrels, etc...! Lovely photos of these deer.

I saw about 1/3 grown bunny in our yard last week. I had to put the doggie dog up because Patches saw it hopping and I didn't want her chasing it down. I have no idea where it went off to.
