Past the Dutchman's Breeches
and the Whitetail's famous Flip
The Yellow-Winged Blackbird's singing
on the wire up above~~~
and the White Crowned Sparrow chirping
his melodic song of love~~~and,
far in the field, a Sandhill struts his stuff,
as we swing the gate open,
open wide, to get by,
to check on the growth of the slow growing
winter rye.
Past the log barn and ol' yellow truck
back home to our waiting field
to plant pumpkins, and with luck~~~
a piece of Strawberry Rhubarb Pie
after the work is done.
Not two pieces, dear, for you, only one.
Ok, that was corny, don't blame ya if you're laughin,'
but the pie was good.
BlessYa

Very creative, especially the pie! My favourite!
Pretty critters, lovely scenery and piece of pie at the end of the journey sounds like a wonderful way to spend the day. :)
I always enjoy our trips together. I wish I knew the flora and fauna as you, but you certainly make it entertaining, especially the pie. Looks delicious!!!
((HUGS)) from North Carolina. Good that you are seeing SPRING!!
Of course I do know the WHITE FLAG, that is usually all I see of them!
Not corny at all...well maybe a itty bitty bit...but I loved it. what an interesting flower...the Dutchman's Britches. I have never seen them . I have seen those white tails LOL It was a great trip and I am glad you took us along. It would be hard to eat only one slice of your pie...

Loved the trip and the pie was good too.
That was corny :) Did that truck jump the highway? Is that the same one sitting behind your barn now? I love that sparrow pic in the cedar branches.
Who would laugh at your creativeness? Excellent poetry!
