How Does Your Garden Grow?

Don't you just love it when you get to open up an Early Birthday Present?
Look at the cool homemade photo album my son and his family gave me?
Of course, I just love it. It's pages are of paper and even has blank pages for those special notes.
Click on any of the following photos for a closer look.
Yes, angels and baby cherubs do nap~~~shhhh
Whooo's that looking over my garden?
Our gardens are coming along fine for the unusual weather we have had so far this year. If you look closer, there is a 2nd garden in the upper right corner. That's where the pumpkins, squash, cabbages and gourds grow.
The woodshed is just about full. There is always something changing here at our homestead. This snapshot shows a bit of new lawn in the making., besides the best tire swing that needs a 'lift.'
The White Birch are growing rapidly. There are 4 of these within a few feet of each other at the edge of the driveway, just into the woods.
I have finally had to replace my Primrose. They are amongst the earliest bloomers of our spring.
My Staci Strawberries, named after my niece who started our berry bed. Thanks Staci Girl.
Just another pretty peek at my Onondaga Viburnum. I finally got the name right. I do love this shrub as much as the deer.
The Lollipop Lilies put out quite a show if the deer don't get to these first.
The dew was on quite heavy early this morning during my stroll around the yard. I did not expect this Knock Out Rose to survive our bitter winter so she was a welcome surprise when she pricked my finger while weeding the bed of Ribbon Grass that surrounds her.
Slow but sure. Our first Wolf River Apple is coming along fine. I cannot wait for this one. One apple is so large, it is supposed to make a pie. I have to see this.
The Common Mullein behind the garage is gorgeous in it's fuzzy leaves full of dewdrops. In our area, he should stand at least 5 ft. tall by maturity.
Once this bed fills out, it's going to be a show-stopper. I love the colors.
Blue Lobelia are also among my favorite annuals. They really are 'true blue,' tho they appear lavender.
The yellow Honeysuckle are non-stop. There are 6 of them hugging the lower edge of the fence below the driveway. They actually are quite invasive, but I love their scent and show as much as the birds.
It looks as tho there will be plenty of Choke Cherries for both jelly and the birds. This tree is absolutely loaded.
I know, I know, you have seen my Blue Hosta before. But, just look at that Quince. It's still in bloom after a month. I'm amazed. Bill agrees that it does have to be moved away from the deck, however. We may not see blooms again for a few years, but, it's growing leaps and bounds. Someone neglected to do enough research. Hmmm.
The Begonias in the kettles are doing great, even tho I forgot to water them during the hot, dry spell. Hey, I seldom use this door.
The Wild Roses are going to burst soon. Cannot wait to open my bedroom window and enjoy their scent and scene.
Last, but not least, I love, Love, LOVE my Wattle Fences, especially this one that meanders around and about the bed of perennials.

I hope you enjoyed this stroll around the yard that started out to be a quick look at the gardens. Have a great weekend. We are supposed to get drenched but at the moment, the sun is shining. That means, I'm outa'here.

From me to you,
BlessYourHearts

What a beautiful garden and yard you have. I love the idea of using old tea kettles for pots, it's very creative recycling.

Your grounds are so beautiful and green! Your plants look happy too. Cute whimsies around and love the album! My gardens are slow growing in this dreadful heat right now.

You just make me sick! I can't even pronounce the words much less spell them. LOL.
But let me tell you something, I love the red, blue and the bright yellow flowers, no matter what you call them. You also have too neat a garden. LOL. One thing I could do that you mentioned, I could raise that tire swing though!!!

I do love the sleeping Cherub. Your tour was great, just like the one giving the tour. Love you lady you are somekind of smart.

Dar, I love reading your informative blog. I would like to be able to identify all of the trees and flowers here in our area but alas - I just don't. Well...pokeweed or sassafras and that's about it for me. Too, I can identify rock and dirt sometimes. ☻
