Oh Dear, First Storm

Oh Dear, (said in my most moarnful Eyore voice). Good Morning!
(Yes, Mel, my trees have faces, but the bear bit off my lips.)
I'm not complaining, by any means about the weather..
The sun barely peeked through after our first rainfall, leaving barely 3/4 inch of rain on our still frozen swamps, woods and slowly melting creek.
The slightest of rainbow crossed the eastern sky by time I retrieved my camera from the 4-wheeler parked in the barn. The music left by falling rain, still resonated in my ears. I love the sound of a powerful rainfall.
Angels wings were forming in the clouds,
showing us there was not fear in the next storm that arrived less than 10 minutes later,
pushing creek water fast east to west.
The air was still warmer than the ground causing much fog to form across the fields, on the highway beyond, and
in the swamps., trees and brush still dripping with raindrops. (Click on any picture for a closer view.)
Every spring since my son was old enough to pick a flower, he has brought me my first bouquet of spring. This time it was pussy willows. I hope he will never outgrow this. He's getting married next year. Do you think he will then forget ?
Parts of our state were hit by 5 different tornadoes, but we were missed., I'm grateful. In stead, our day ended with a beautiful sunset. ben (oops, GrandLove Ben had to write his name...)
Thanks for stopping. Have a memorable week and God Bless!

Glad you weren't hit by the severe weather....your bouquets may become less frequent if your new DIL loves them too....

Beautiful photos...you reminded me of picking pussy willows for my mom in the spring when I was little...glad you were spared those severe storms!

I like the pussy willows in that vase! We have a pussy willow tree in our back yard. Well, the tree actually belongs to our neighbor. It sits on the border between our two yards :-) I enjoy seeing the buds on it each year.

It is stormy here today. I hope the current thunderstorm ends before I have to leave for work!

I bet that your son won't forget your Spring bouquet. It is obviously a very special tradition between the two of you.

These are beautiful pictures of a countryside still transitioning from Winter to Spring. I enjoyed them very much.

it's okay if your son instead begins picking bouquets for his wife. it's only right - you raised him well to share the joys of life...

Great pictures! We were in a 'tornado warning' last night but it blew over just skimming by a little south of us. We did however get pounded with rain and wind. Thom got the rain barrels set up yesterday, perfect timing! They're full this morning!

Love the pics. I love watching it storm. I slept with our bedroom window open for the first time this year. About 3 am I closed it after figuring out that was why I was wet! I so hate it when bears bite off your lips!

I love a good storm! Nothing damaging around here; but they sure did get it to the south of us around Merrill / Wausau area. Yikes!

I bet your son will always remember but if he takes them to his wife instead you can say job well done. Who knows he may bring some to you both. Glad you didn't get the bad weather. We were supposed to and didn't but we did so want the rain.
