it was the beginning of a typical, nasty March storm. The snow was going every which direction, blowing and drifting, raining, warm spring weather. Ha! What a trick.
This morning, it is still coming down harder than ever, still blowing drifts in the driveways, roads, steps....we are having a March blizzard complete with slush and ice. Schools are closed, traffic is slow, weather daring us to just try to get to town. I chose to cancel an appointment in this mess.
Yes, that is snow and not just a blurred photo, of the wagon wheel on the barn. I see my star has even gotten blown off the wall.
The siding on the house is even lined with, (don't want to say it), ' that white stuff. '
When Bill and Andy stepped into the snow on the steps, it showed at least 8" blown into this corner. Did either of them grab the shovel? What do You think?
Even the birds are busy flitting from feeder to feeder, warming and filling themselves with breakfast. They are stuffing more seed than usual in the bark of the trees. Do they think this storm is going to last longer than the weatherman has predicted?
Just when we were all getting excited with the creek starting to open, the grass showing signs of spring, the rose bushes beginning to just barely unfold, like the pussy willows. We have learned not to get too anxious because, it never fails. We ALWAYS seem to get One Last Storm in March. Let's just hope it doesn't snow this much for the April, May, and June storms. I have seen snow on my birthday in the end of June.

We said we needed moisture, and God has come through once again.
Thanks for stopping by our cold northern climes. Stay warm and enjoy your sunshine if you are fortunate to live in gorgeous early spring locations. I will patiently wait for the month of June to plant my gardens.

Oh dear. Yes, I remember those days all too well - winter just won't let go. But end of June? Yikes! here in Texas we've been know to get an oddball snowstorm in March but not this year. :)
It's pouring here in CA and will be through the weekend. So looking forward to some sunshine...hopefully soon!
Wow snow go.
Love that shot with White stuff on the side of house tho.
So, Dar, you are mastering the art of capturing the snow in photographs. These are really GOOD! Our weather is already spring-like...with longer days...which means more work time in the evenings - OR more play time - whichever I prefer since I'm retired! ☻
Don't worry, spring is coming your way! Wishing you the best.
Dar-Baby, I think mama used to tell me a story about you. No, musta been something else.
'tis good you can handle the big weather up here. I have watched the weather reports up here. I think they have a rougher time than down south.
I checked three authorities, and they varied up to 10 degrees.
I hope this is the last snow you guys get, I also hope it remains on that side of the Big Lake. The ground here is saturated, ponds everywhere.
Love your pictures and narrative, it is always a treat to drop by Dar's Stuffings!
Love coming from this side.
We got a bit of snow last night but nothing like that. I am so tired of the stuff right now. Stay warm and snuggle with someone you love!
We had about a half a foot on Sunday but yesterdays storm totally missed us - whew! However; I'm realisitc enough to know we haven't seen the last of that white stuff for the season.

You have an award waiting for you over on my blog. I know you don't do those but I didn't want you to feel left out. LOL

Hopefully this is your last winter storm. Spring is surely just around the corner.
After seeing how much snow you have, I won't complain about the piddly amount we got. Thankfully, it has almost all melted.
Sorry, didn't mean to rub that in.
Oh heck no...I'd have more than balloons sticking out of my head!
I bet you are winter weary. I have bulbs up high and it has turned cold and we got snow last.night. It is nearly gone. but the cold is to remain into the 1st of next week.
Well that is disheartening! I was just commenting how things were really melting out around here, that spring has truly sprung ... now I do hope it stays this way and we don't have a relapse like your own. But truly, spring really is coming! Take heart.
