NOT To TEASE, But....

I normally am not such a tease with food, but, lately I just can't help myself.
All of you appreciated followers will remember the roadtrip I went on a short while ago, when I bought the variety of cheeses. I guess my eyes were bigger than my stomach. Anyway, finally, we have gotten to the Mexican Fry Cheese.
Mel and I had sampled it straight from the block. This one was flavored with chives and garlic. The raw flavor was extremely pungent and strong of garlic. In fact, we could taste it the rest of the day. That was before fixing it as instructed.
Fry Cheese is just that, meant to be fried.
OH MY GRACIOUS, GOLLY, GEE!!!! What a Treat!!!!
I cut a few pieces in strips, lightly fried them in a drizzle of oil on each side just until lightly browned, dipped them in salsa, and went straight to heaven. If you have ever had warm, fresh cheese curds, you remember them squeaking in your teeth. Fried Mexican Fry Cheese does the same. We were rewarded.
It was a perfect sampler to go with our Broccoli and Carrots and the Cayenne Cornmeal Crusted Skinless Chicken.
We do not have dessert on a regular basis, and this even does not classify. Left-over frozen bananas were shifted in the freezer for the last time and soon became this very moist and dense Banana Pecan Bread. It tasted like dessert to me.
We have been so bad this past week with the extras, that it's back to the woods this weekend. We will be splitting and hauling more firewood, planting some shrubs, hopefully finishing my 'project', and if time allows, hauling and placing more rock for 'one' more flowerbed.
Surely, by then, we will have worked off our 'miss-behaving'., and instead, be left with the well-earned good kind of sore muscles and joints. Grams lived to be a vital 102 yrs. and as she always said, "Use it or loose it, but don't abuse it." It has become a way of life for our excessive work days. We do work hard but we are so blessed in return. So,
Have yourselves an energetic, work weekend. Bend your knees, lift some rocks with me, drink lots of water and feel the burn!!!
Life is good. :)

I've never heard of cheese like that. Sounds like its an interesting tasting food.
Your banana pecan bread looks delicious. Yummy!

I agree with your Grams. I've always believed that There's not much like honest hard work out in the woodlands to keep the old bod in shape.

Can hardly wait until you share your 'project' with us. I know it's a dandy. :)

Wishing you a day of sunshine.

I'm discussing this entry with Sherry. Sherry says, "Dar put more food on, didn't she?"
"Yep, I think YELLING at her does no good!"

"Well then don't!" she said smiling , me knowing she is planning to get everyting for the Choc Dump cake. LOL

So.... NIce post Dar, the cheese sounds great!!! Never had fried cheese, toasted cheese sandwiches is the closest I have come.
