O.K., already! I know, I know. There is work to do, lots of it!
It seems it is taking a bit longer to recharge lately. I'm thanking God for a small reprieve from all of the heat and exhaustion.
Now, there is obviously plenty to keep my hands from being idle for the next couple of days.
There are jars to fill!
The Tree-Ripe Citrus truck was here yesterday for a mere one and a half hours. Last year was the first time I bought their produce and it will not be the last. Just look at the goodies after this bit of free advertising.
Fresh picked Georgia Peaches 2 3/4 " and up, as big as my large hand will be canned for winter pleasure, and made into jams and tarts.
Plump, quarter-sized Michigan Blueberries to freeze and make jams, cobblers and pies.
Already, we devoured the sweet flavor of a Peach n' Blueberry Tart.
Ya Unt Sum?
And, among all the work of this week, includes chasing buzzards. Do you see him circling the fresh cut hay that needs baling.
Seeing the hay lying there is bittersweet for me. We used to do this work ourselves when we had a small hobby farm. Allowing the neighbors to feed this lot to their cattle, at least allows us the sweet scent of fresh mowed hay.
Besides all of the canning, there are weeds waiting in the gardens, to be pulled and composted.
Enough jabbering on and on about nothing important to anyone but myself. Needless to say, I have work to do, so off I go on my merry way.
Have a most wonderful day profiting from the simpler things in life.

Hello:
What a wonderful bounty of peaches, which we are enjoying too in Budapest. Your tart looks absolutely delicious and how marvellous it will be to have a store of these goodies in jars just waiting to cheer one up in the dark and dreary days of winter. Enjoy!
yummy fruits of summer. :)
Those peaches and blueberries look outstanding! You're making my mouth water this morning.
I am looking forward to doing lots of canning and freezing this summer. Looks like you got some great stuff there! Don't work too hard! It sounds like you have been a very busy girl!
I'm totally jealous and a very vivid green with envy. Needless to say, Nevada doesn't produce such wonderful looking peaches or blueberries. Fallon is famous for some juicy cantaloupe, but that's about it for the produce. Here and there some one will have a fruit tree, but nothing really big.
Have a productive and wonderful day!!
Wow you're one work-a holic. We're heading for San Antonio to a doctor's appointment at noon. In other words "country goin' to town".
Oh what fun! Wishing I had that many blueberries to work with too!
Keep up the good work Dar!

There is no perfume quite as sweet as that of new mown hay. But, I bet the smell of that peach and blueberry tart came close.
Looks very scrummy Dar, mmm my mouth buds are watering.

Nice looking peaches, and yes there is always plenty of things to do :).
Your fruit looks very good! My husband has been picking blueberries from our backyard. We have four bushes. So far I have 9 cups of blueberries frozen, in 1/2 cup portions. I am using the blueberries to make blueberry smoothies. The 1/2 cup portion is the perfect amount for this drink.
Fruits look so good. I am not much of a blueberry fan but I love peaches.. Guess it is a good thing you had your R and R. Looks like you will need that energy.
I guess it's time for me to go out hunting for some of those Michigan blueberries! Sure wish that truck would stop by here and leave some of those peaches, heck I'd even pay for them. LOL
'love & hugs from afar'
How neat to have the fruit delivered to your home, and it looks delish too! Always something to do isn't there?
The tart part sounded really really good to me!!!
thanks and yes fresh mowed hay is always a pleasure to be around!
