Building Hope & the Hope Bargain Center

There is hope after all.

Big Bill says that after all these years, I deserve a fur. Isn't he the sweetest? LOL We laughed so hard, and the gal in the next aisle just about split a gut laughing at him as he touched the furs, tried them on along with a ladies hat. Of course, the batteries died just at that time in my camera. Our grandsons couldn't stop laughing at their Grandpa. All kidding aside, we did find some bargains, and no, I did not get a fur, even tho the moment was priceless.

Building Hope is the building materials and office furniture Re-Use Center that we visited in EauClaire, WI. this past weekend. Bill was in his glory-mode. He did not purchase anything, but already has been taking measurements. If you go there, go prepared.
They had such array of items for the builder, DIY guy and gal such as we have been all of our lives, even the small renew individual that only needs a bit of this or that color of paint, stain, or caulk. The list is endless of what can be found within those walls. Even $5 doors.
The doors above and below, were solid wood doors from the past. These two caught both, mine and my daughters eye at the same time. We both love vintage and these were just that. The glass front diamonds on the dark door were in pristine shape, and the scuffed woodwork only needed to be cleaned. My guess, Darcie has already gone back for that door. She wants it for the entry to the sun porch of her late 1800's home. I can see it there already.
What gorgeous entry doors. The second one, the 8 panel door, was also a favorite. They just do not make doors like these anymore. It makes me wonder how many generations have already passed through these beauties on their way to school or the barn to do the chores first.

I fell in love with this storm door. It probably was not all that old but it was ornate. I have a thing for wrought iron. I also found some fence sections also of iron, that I am sure will disappear before my return. I see a run down the road before having to be outside soaking up the sun in the gardens. Ya coming Mel?
Remember this chair from yesterday?
How about these honeys! Love those table legs and chair spindles. Of course, then I'd have to have that floor.
Does anyone need office furniture? There were more to the left, tons of office chairs, waiting-room chairs, if you need, even wheeled bed trays, wheelchairs, file cabinets, cubical dividers...oh, wow, I just had a great idea for those.
Smaller items were found in the Hope Bargain Center, like this awesome tobaggon, ski equipment, clothing, household items, etc., small furnishings.
Remember that fur Bill thought I deserved? Well, I found him a wheelchair that he's going to need. LOL~~
I wish I had a covered porch. I'd buy every one of these wheeled recliners.
I know, you saw this on the last post too, but I thought you'd like a peek inside, for the fun of it. I'd love to extend this off the side of our cabin for the Girls Quarters. Of course, we would have to add a private bath.
It's just one room and a loft. I know this is just an example of the log company's work, but it was fun to see and dream at the same time.

Bill did get a new toy. He's already using his new air compressor, so he is a happy man. I wonder what I can get next........hmm, my wheels are turning.
Thanks for stopping and reading this as I jabber along. Have a perfectly beautiful day full of surprises and dreams.
Prayers are needed for the disaster victims...how aweful to loose so much life and living. We are not meant to understand, but we are meant to Turn to HIM.

Glad you didn't get the fur (I'm one of those anti-fur people. Makes me shiver...) And yet I do eat meat and where leather. But fur? Can't do it.

We have a store like that in our area too, maybe not quite as big but it has oodles of windows, doors, lights, plumbing supplies, etc.

Hi Dar, That tiny cabin would be perfect as an addition to yours....

Love your comment about the wheelchair --after Bill mentioned that you 'needed' a fur!!!!! ha ha

Sounds like you had a wonderful time at your daughter's... Bet she buys that door.
Hugs,
Betsy

Mel, I'd go crazy in a store like that - and Frances would go crazy when I started unloading my pickup! ☻ In fact, I think I may have enough junk to start such a store now. I just hate to throw stuff away..."I might need that on my next project" is what I usually say. Thanks for sharing the great idea about the reclining wheelchairs. I'll take two of those for my cabin porch!

Love the doors and your fur- VBG There was a few days this winter that I might have wished for a fur coat- The last few days have been lovely and the snow is starting to melt- perhaps spring is in the air but one never knows what Mother Nature has in store next...
Sending the people of Japan, Christchurch and Northeast Australia good thoughts and hope for better days-
Warmest regards,
Anna

What an awesome place to bargain hunt! I would spend hours in there checking out all the neat stuff. Yep, they dont make doors like that anymore. I grew up in a 1800's house and we had solid doors. Once moving out on my own, I soon realized how cheaply things were made since then. I would not have left that iron behind girl....

That place looks like it has lots of stuff that can be "remade" into some pretty neat craft items.

Hey you were in my neck of the woods! I often stop by the bargain center, but have yet to hit the building center - I'd like to tho.

We could all use a "fur" eh?
