Sights like these are far off, however, as far off as two more months. I guess that is why our Lord above, has done His best, to bless us with patience. Soon enough, we will once again be tickled to see the first robin arrive, watch her build her nest in the berry patch, and keep a watchful eye on
her nest and hatching babies. If you click on the picture below, and enlarge it, you will better see, that two baby birds have already emerged from their sky blue homes.
I certainly hope this curious little bear did not make lunch of them as he passed through the raspberry patch a few days later. It does look as though he is licking his chops.
I'm looking forward to summer fun., like a party-barge ride around the flowage with a crazy bunch of islanders. Just how many sailors does it take to lift a ragged, air-conditioned awning on a pontoon? Well, it takes the Skipper, Mary Ann, Mrs. Howell, Mr. Howell and Gilligan, of course. Ginger was taking pictures and fixing her make-up for the ride home.
Perhaps, on this trip, they will find some lazy bass waiting to take a nibble of coconut, way out there by those stumps.
Day dreaming on reflections, while drifting through the channels of the flowage, is very therapeutic. I cannot wait for these days again. I am told, that those days are just ahead for we patient ones. Bring it on!

I got my hopes up for a short while today that the snow would stop, and we'd have sunshine and warmer temperatures. The temperature is warmer ... in the 20s. Perhaps by the end of the weekend we will get above freezing. In the week to come we may even see temperatures in the 40s! Today, though, I am sick of snow! Thank you for sharing pictures that will help me daydream about warmer days, green grass, and blue skies.
Bask in that sunshine if you can. Our temps are wonderful here today in Texas (yippee!) I sat out on the front porch for a while and got my dose of Vitamin D. Then the vacuum cleaner was calling my name so I had to return to chores. For a little while anyway...
I do hope this severe weather pattern has broken and it'll just be a calm winter for you from now until S.P.R.I.N.G!

Love from Florida where we are seeing the Sun today after a few couudy ones. Should hit 70's today and act like Florida is. After buying tickets to the Florida show, you really want to see it. So I thinhk it may be starting, yours won't be far behind.

With the amount of snow and frigid cold temps that you've had, Dar, I could easily understand why you are so eager for spring. We've been seeing and hearing the robins since early January here...but the snows keep coming. The wind is really howling today. But there will be fun in the sun again before we know it!
There have been several sitings of robins here in northern Iowa but I have not personally seen any. In this case the robin is going to get the frozen worm if he can dig through the snow.
Now that's just an ornery tease with all those pictures!!
It will be nice to see that again, won't it?
What's all this babble about wanting the snow to go away ... as soon as it does and it gets hot out you'll be wishing it was cool again. haha
Dar, I love the pictures of your creek with the snow covered banks, the bear, the bird and the berry patch. Also love the idea of getting the boat out on the Flowage and casting a bait for bass. Made me think that maybe I should get my boat out, charge up the batteries and get it ready for some fishing soon. Good fishing starts here in April - but that whole month is devoted to Turkey season also. I'll fish after that. BTW - our yard was full of robins about ten days ago. Must have been 50 of them at one time. As always, your posts are fun and interesting.
I can only imagine how long winter feels and IS up there in Wisconsin. We complain enough down here in TN... Luckily for all of us, we are having a Spring Tease this weekend --and next week... Love it!!!!!

For twenty years, I longed for cold cold winter, after 2 extremely cold on in Canada, I am glad I am here. If I want snow, I drive up to the mountains.
That bear does look to be licking his/her chops but I hope not. We've had a decent kind of warm day here today. Its been really cold for south Texas. I'm trying to make myself remember last July and August when I begged for some cooler weather.

Oh, don't those pictures look wonderful. On a hot summer day, to dangle feet in that creek must be so lovely. I really do like winter, but this one has been long and hard and I'll be very glad when I see and hear the signs of spring again.

We saw 2 robins just this morning. My computer has been down so have not been able to post since my grandsons back surgery till today. Good to be back.
