Wishful Thinking

The Lord knows we needed plenty of moisture to replenish our past drought conditions, but....I'm thinking that with all of the rain we finally were blessed with last summer and fall, and now, constant snow?, I'm thinking that we here in the northcentral WI are so ready to share.
I am being selfish here, and wishing for the sight of green, plush grass. I promise, if we have an abundance, we will gladly share that also. Rather than sliding around on the ice, pushing snow, shoveling snow, bundling in many layers before treading outdoors, I'd much rather be on a long Trail Ride with the family on our 4-wheelers. I'd even go for Mudding right now, and I hate getting muddy.
I'd rather be swishing my hands in the creek with Sy, letting the bubbles drift through my fingers, day-dreaming with nor a care in the world. Or
picking apples with Grandpa Bill and Christopher, such sweet Grandloves, or just chewing on a piece of straw with Austin. They will giggle when they see these pictures from years past...not too many years, but past. Right now, this very bitter cold moment, I would much rather be embracing spring, summer or fall, for I have already had enough of
THIS. It is gorgeous to look at, but I am getting cold....cold feet, cold hands, cold bod, cold hearted about winter. Bring on that green, plush grass and some summer fun.
Thanks for visiting, in spite of my bit--y attitude tonight.
You all stay healthy, warm and motivated to get through this cold, blustery weather. If I were only a snowman, I would not care.

I'm sorry, dearie. I can remember those days from younger times...

I was so excited to see the sun here today after a week and a half of gray (first snow, then rain, then fog) but I really have nothing to complain about. It was 55 today - so I should shut up, right?! :)

Yes, I'm definitely more Texan than Wisconsinite now...

Ha Dar... Whatever season we are in, we always yearn for another one.. That's just human nature. I love GREEN also---but that snow-covered cabin is just gorgeous... I am one who loves winter --and despises the hot summers... BUT--I know that I have to get through the summer so that I can enjoy the beauty of Fall... Aren't we humans just a little crazy at times???? ha

Hugs,
Betsy

I am with you. I get tired of the snow the day after Christmas. After that, it could go away til a week before the following Christmas. I used to love the snow when I was younger. Hurry up spring!

It's okay to dream a little dream (with me). an old song. I love the reflective pictures. I can imagine how you guys will enjoy spring. We can only relate a little from three or four years in North Central Missouri. BUT it was never as cold as Wisconsin.

But the picture of the cabin is absolutely beautiful. Having the privelege of being there (in the summer), We know that that steam where Sy was playing is just past the cabin and down the knoll. I am sure froze tight now. BUT SPRING will come and the land will get a slow drenching at first as that snow melts.

Good thoughts, beautiful folk in pretty pictures. and BLESS YOURHEART!!''

Love you girl.

Hey we atv too, and I'm missing it. I love the smell of the woods early in the morning. Or going through a logging trail, the smell of fresh cut wood always reminds me of my dad. Where do you ride?

I was like that last year down here. I had snow on the ground from Thanksgiving through mid April, very unusual, and after a while, very irritating. I feel your pain!

I have never lived in an area where it snow but at the moment I would swap with you as it is very humid here and sweat just sitting still.

Bless your heart, Dar! It's o.k. to have that attitude for an hour or two (or maybe even a day) but be sure to switch back to your old positive self soon! Oh. I had a thought. Remember what the man said, "If the mountain won't come to Mohamed, then Mohamed will go to the mountain." Is it time to go for a visit to Florida or Southern Cal? ☺

You have the right idea Fred, I need to hitch a ride to TX with Mel to see our lil sis, Colleen. Wouldn't she be surprised!
All of you hang in there with the rest of ' me,' for the snow will have to skip the country sooner or later.
It's snowing again, and heavy stuff this time. I know, get the shovel out and breathe some of that crisp, fresh air. Oh dear.

I am so with you Dar, I am not very fond of winter because I am not sued to cold weather. Outdoor fun is very limited too.

Now Dar, you know what to do - you put on a kettle of homemade soup, have a cup of tea and look through the seed catalogs and plan your spring planting!! Works for me! 'love & hugs from afar'
