My head twirls with the wind that makes the Maidenhair Fern dance...
Do NOT fence me in, do not forbid me to pass beyond the barbs. It only deepens my curiosity as to what's on the other side...like, what is half way around this world that my son is experiencing?
Walk this dark path with me to reach the light at the creeks edge. Wait , was that the shadow of a wolf that sneaks through...
Don't allow me to stray so far from home...
The salt the deer have chewed stings my tongue and has made me thirsty...
Do you think I will wither and die like these forgotten boughs meant to be lush, green wreaths? I don't think so. Not tonight. I just need some sleep and a drink of cold water, don't you think...
Soon, he will call. As he rises to go to work, I will then sleep and pray for his safe return someday soon.
Thanks for listening to the jabbering of a tired Mom, grateful for the few glimpses of sunshine within this very dark day. Exhaustion overcomes me so I may have to wait until tomorrow, his today, to hear word that all is going well. Do you think I might miss my son?
Good night all.

Awww Dar this brought a tear to my eye. I don't have sons but I have grandsons. I'll be praying for your son's safe return and for you to feel peace.
all mums think of their children when they are away. They will call and tell you not to fret.
I have a young granddaughter that is doing volunteer work in Ireland. The happiness for her being there is tinged with worry.
You captured the quiet calmness of that worry well in your post.
Hope you heard from your Son last night and he is well.
Wow, those were some strong storms yesterday! Glad we don't have those very often.
My son and family left yesterday for 5 days of camping just 2 hours away and I miss them. they are out of cell phone territory.
I will miss them.
Moms are like that arent' we?
Safe travels for your son.
Not to worry,... the Mom that I am...I just had the nicest 3/4 hr. visit with my son on Skype...so I was able to see him and see for myself that all is going well. He has less than a week of teaching to do yet, and he will be back home. This weekend he will finally have some time to do some shopping. His interpretors have been wonderful and there is one with him at all times he is out and about. He LOVES the food and has only eaten one thing he did not like, tofu...ha...he's so like his mother. I will still have him in my prayers until I can give him a hug again...it's the Mom in me.
Thanks to all of you for your prayers for his safety.

Hi Dar, After reading your post--and then your comment, I am glad to hear that you finally heard from your son... Glad he is doing well. I'm not sure I would like the food in China. George has been there and he said that you don't ASK what you are eating... ha ha
I hope you got a good night's sleep. You were really worked up... You just need some rest, my friend.
Wish we would get some of your rain HERE....
Hugs,
Betsy
Beautiful post Dar, full to the brim with feelings.
Dar: That was certainly a beautiful thought out post. I hope you got that call.
I know the feeling when children take off to faraway places. I'm glad you had a nice visit with your son. You must be so very proud of him.
so how is the 'little' guy doing?
Sweet. Lovely pictures. Nature is the most wonderfu thing in the world. It never stop being amazed.
Have a nice weekend. Dogwood
