The farmhouse was homesteaded in 1886, and since has been restored somewhat, and has now become a new home for my daughter and her family. Her hubby is happy with his 'huge' garage, the boys have 8 acres to stretch their growing legs, and Darcie has room for her horses to roam, her mind to wander again.
The family dog, Bandit, even has his own handicap ramp for his arthritic legs for less painful access. He sure is getting around s l o w., these days. Poor ol' pooch. That's him lying in front of the house, close to his ramp.
The yard has so many mature trees, black oak as big around as a merry-go-round, and some sumac, maples, pine and pin oaks too.
It was a great way to spend a couple of days, wandering around the grounds, identifying plants for her, she is not a gardener, and having a corn roast.
On our way, I couldn't help but grab the camera, as this church in Bloomer sat in the middle of a corn field. Now , That's a Country Church!
For you guys out there, thought you'd like to take a peek at Bill's new dream machine. Soon!, Bill, Soon!

Man alive, what a beautiful place. Looks like a dream come true. YOu guys sure have a lot of open space up there, I never pictured it. Hope to see it one day.
That is a unique looking bridge you have opening with. & love the church in a corn field.
BUT, I want the dump trailer! Is it Bill's yet or are you just teasing. That is one of the great enovations of the past few years, great for the guy who needs a dump, but not enough for a truck. I WANT ONE TOO!
Love from NC!
Have a great week. Loved the trip thanks for taking us along.
Just a wonderful trip!!! Thank you for allowing us to come along.
What a beauty of a house.
Oh My Heart, Dar...... IF I were 35 yrs. younger, I'd buy me an old farmhouse with some acreage.. I would love to have that house--or one similar. Looks like it's in great condition... I'll bet your daughter and family LOVE it....
How far are they from you??? Doesn't sound like it's THAT far--which is good. Hope you have a great day/week.
Hugs,
Betsy
Oh it's dreamy...and loved that church
Wow!!! How is your daughter going to clean such a big place like that? May be she can think about letting out a couple of rooms as B & B, and get the income for some one to clean her house.
What a happy home for your family! Lots of space to roam and explore...a wonderful choice!
What a lucky dog to have his own ramp.
Dar: What a neat homestead. Be sure to tell Bill, big toys for big boys.
Congrats to Darcie and Dale, what a beautiful
place. I know the boys will LOVE it there....looks
very homey already. So glad you have room for
the horses to kick there heels up too. I'm tickled
pink for you Darc! You too Dar, cuz ya'll can visit
whenever ya want... I'd be over there having
corn roast all the time.
Catch ya later, love, me
That sure is a country church! Thanks for sharing your visit with us.
What a great looking place Dar. It's beautiful, and all that space.
I've seen that church, I think we driven by on the way to eat at a place called Birch Point. It does seem to out in the middle of no where.
Well, it looks like we both have been 'OnTheRoad' this summer. What a beautiful new/old home your daughter has with all that beautiful scenery. I bet your camera eye was so full of great shots. That's some piece of 'Dream Machinery'! Thanks for visiting the Sandhills of Crane, Texas post. It is really quite an expected thing to see...a beach with no water!
Congrats to Darcie & Dale. Looks like they found our dream home. I'm so happy she'll be able to keep the horses at 'home.'
Magnificent home! Wow, congratulations to them. I wish them many decades of happiness there.
Thanks for sharing the road trip, it always a joy to travel with you. :)
Wishing you a joyful rest of the week!
